First Year Student Send-off!

Join us for an opportunity to meet other first year students heading to all 20 Penn State campuses for the 2021-22 school year.

Are you headed to Penn State this fall for your first year of college and reside in Bucks County or the surrounding counties (Philadelphia, Chester, Delaware, or Montgomery)? If so, we want to invite you and your parents to our annual First Year (previously known as Freshman) Sendoff, co-hosted by the Penn State alumni association chapters of Bucks County, Chester County, Delaware County, and Montgomery County, and Philadelphia. It takes place on Sunday, August 8th from 10:00AM to 12:30 PM. This is a free event for all incoming first year students to any of Penn State's 20 campuses and their families.

This year's event will be held virtually via Zoom. A tentative agenda is included below:

10-10:15AM: Opening remarks from Chapter Presidents – Students and Parents 10:15-11:00AM: Breakout 1 Student Panel for students Parents Council presentation for parents 11-11:10: Break 11:10-12:00PM: Breakout 2 Students in breakout groups by campus

Meet other students attending your campus and ask current students questions in a smaller group setting Financial Aid presentation for parents 12:00PM-12:30PM: Closing remarks from Chapter Presidents – Students and Parents Additional time for any other Q&A.

Parents: Come and ask questions about Penn State and meet other Penn State parents. We will be holding programs for first time Penn State parents including a financial aid Q&A and a session presented by current Penn State Parents about helping them navigate the complexities of first year campus life including what to expect on move-in day, how to choose a meal plan, when to start looking and how to find an apartment, how to get football tickets, and so much more.

Please RSVP by Wednesday, August 4th. Please make sure to register separately for students and parents. You will need 2 devices to use as students and parents will be separated for most of the event.
